Carrie Underwood

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, April 18, 2009

Biography
Carrie Marie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983, in Checotah, Oklahoma. The daughter of a paper mill worker and an elementary school teacher, she grew up on a cattle farm with her two older sisters, Shanna and Stephanie. Carrie began singing in her church choir when she was only 3 years old. When she was 13, she made her first studio recording, and performed in festivals in a number of states while trying to get a singing career off the ground. In spite of her passion for music, Carrie maintained a well-balanced life growing up. A big sports fan, she played softball for eight years. She was an honor student at Checotah High School, and a member of the National Honor Society. One summer, she served as a page for Oklahoma State Representative Bobby Frame. In 2001, Carrie graduated from Checotah as salutatorian.

Why Is She Famous?
Carrie Underwood became the fourth American Idol winner in May of 2005, then released a new single, "Inside Your Heaven," which went straight to No. 1. Any doubts as to her legitimacy as an artist have since been thoroughly addressed; she stole the show at both the 2007 CMA and Grammy awards.

Success
For a young woman, Carrie Underwood has achieved quite a bit. She was an honor student in high school who went on to succeed in college. She spent a summer working for her state representative and placed admirably in pageants and contests thanks to her natural musical gifts. It's a trajectory that many girls would envy, even if Carrie hadn't followed it to become the fourth winner of American Idol. But she did.
As an Idol winner, Carrie Underwood becamse familiar to millions of TV viewers and music fans alike. She's had several hits on the Billboard Country charts, and has won four American Music Awards, 13 Billboard Music Awards, four CMT Music Awards, and three Grammy Awards. Kelly Clarkson, eat your heart out!

Sexiness
Carrie Underwood has sex appeal, but it's a bit limited. Her sweetness, beauty and country charm certainly don't harm her, but she lacks the kind of sultry edge that makes a woman really sexy. For instance, while she was a contestant on American Idol, Carrie admitted that she "can't buy underwear." If she needs help, we're sure she could find many guys who'd volunteer.
Still, Carrie has some die-hard admirers. She was named the "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" in an online poll by PETA, and she gets her share of marriage proposals on the American Idol message board.

Tennis star Roddick marries swimsuit model Decker in Texas

Posted by Unknown

The score is love in tennis these days: Now American Andy Roddick is married, too, a week after Swiss tar Roger Federer tied the knot.
Roddick, the 2003 U.S. Open champion, and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker became husband and wife at his Austin, Texas, home, a guest at the wedding told The Associated Press on Saturday.
Elton John sang for the bride and groom at a reception held at a country club after the ceremony Friday night, the guest said, speaking on condition of anonymity because it was a private function not open to the media.
People.com first reported about the wedding.

The 26-year-old Roddick announced his engagement to the 22-year-old model in March 2008.

Among those attending the wedding were tennis great Billie Jean King, Roddick's Davis Cup teammates James Blake and Mardy Fish and U.S. Davis Cup captain Patrick McEnroe.

Roddick finished 2003 ranked No. 1. He is currently No. 6.

Federer, who owns 13 Grand Slam singles titles, married longtime girlfriend Mirka Vavrinec last weekend in a small ceremony in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland.

Drew Barrymore

Posted by Unknown

Biography
Drew Barrymore was born on February 22, 1975, in Culver City, California. Being from a family that produced legendary actors John, Lionel, and Ethel Barrymore, it's no wonder Drew quickly found her way to the spotlight. When she was barely 11 months old, she made her first television commercial for Puppy Choice dog food. Other TV spots soon followed for Pillsbury chocolate-chip cookies and Rice Krispies cereal. But it was clear she was destined for greater things.
She made her first movie at the age of two when she appeared as a boy in the made-for-television film Suddenly, Love (1978). Another TV movie followed with Bogie (1980), in which she played Leslie Bogart. That same year, at the age of five, she moved to the big screen and played William Hurt's daughter in the philosophical science-fiction film Altered States. Two years later, she was cast as Gertie in the Steven Spielberg blockbuster E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982).

Why Is She Famous?
Probably the most famous child actress of her generation, she spent her childhood plastered in tabloids because of her wild partying and drug addiction. Since then, she's made many memorable films, such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Poison Ivy (1992), Batman Forever (1995), The Wedding Singer (1998), Charlie's Angels (2000), and 50 First Dates (2004).

Success
After appearing in many TV commercials, Drew made the TV movies Suddenly, Love (1978) and Bogie (1980). Major motion pictures followed with Altered States (1980) and Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982).

Following Irreconcilable Differences (1984), she was in two Stephen King adaptations: Firestarter (1984) and Cat's Eye (1985). She then returned to television films with The Adventures of Con Sawyer and Hucklemary Finn (1985), Babes in Toyland (1986), and Conspiracy of Love (1987).

The controversial thriller Far From Home and the after-school special 15 and Getting Straight, both released in 1989, were closely linked to her days of drug addiction. Once clean and sober, she made Poison Ivy (1992), Guncrazy (1992), television's The Amy Fisher Story (1993), Doppelganger (1993), and she also had a small part in Wayne's World 2 (1993).

Wild girl roles followed with Bad Girls (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), Mad Love (1995), and Batman Forever (1995). She played a murder victim in the hugely popular Scream (1996) and was in the whimsical Woody Allen musical Everyone Says I Love You (1996).

After Best Men (1997) and Wishful Thinking (1997), she became a leading lady in 1998 in The Wedding Singer, Ever After and Home Fries.

She then produced, as well as starred in, Never Been Kissed (1999) with Jessica Alba, Charlie's Angels (2000), Donnie Darko (2001), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Duplex (2003), and the southern comedy A Confederacy of Dunces (due in 2005).

Other credits include Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), the disastrous Freddy Got Fingered (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), and 50 First Dates (2004). She can also be seen in music videos for Bonnie Raitt's "You Got It" and Swirl 360's "Candy In The Sun."

Sexiness
While she may not be the most naturally beautiful actress in Tinseltown, she makes up for it in sexiness. During her seductress phase of the '90s, she made guys line up for confession to clear up all the unclean thoughts she triggered. Well, almost. The crown jewel of this period of her life is when she flashed her breasts at David Letterman on his show.
We might have seen the goods in Play..boy soon after, but it's the flashing that we dream about to this day. Even though she had breast reduction surgery when she was 16, committing the closest thing to a mortal sin we can think of, most men rate her as extremely sexy. We have to concur.

Lindsay Lohan

Posted by Unknown

Biography
Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born in New York City on July 2, 1986. Her mother Dina is a former Radio City "Rockette" while her father Michael was a long-time Wall Street trader before he struck it rich with a family pasta business. He has now redirected his energies into film development and producing.

Along with her three younger siblings, Michael, Aliana and Dakota, Lindsay Lohan was raised in Long Island. Lindsay was such a natural beauty that she began modeling at the age of 3. In fact, she was the first redheaded child ever signed by the renowned Ford Modeling Agency.

Why Is She Famous?
Aside from the numerous TV commercials she has appeared in, Lindsay Lohan played the twin sisters in the remake of The Parent Trap (1998), Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter in the remake of Freaky Friday (2003) and a wannabe popular girl in the sleeper hit, Mean Girls (2004). In 2005, she starred in another Disney flick, Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), as well as Just My Luck (2006), I Know Who Killed Me (2007), and Georgia Rule (2007). Since 2007, she has completed one movie, Labor Pains, which will be released in the summer of 2009.

Despite praise from the critics for her acting abilities over the years, Lindsay Lohan's personal life seems to turn up in the tabloids and magazines more frequently than her film reviews. It's rumored that the actress, who is known for loving photo shoots, is looking to sign with a high profile modeling agency.

Lindsay Lohan also released a debut album called Speak in December 2004 and A Little More Personal in December 2005. She's on the cusp of working on her third album.

Success
A child model since the age of 3, Lindsay Lohan has been in more than 60 commercials for companies like Wendy's, Abercrombie & Fitch, Jell-O, Calvin Klein, Pizza Hut, and the Gap.

After an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman, Lindsay Lohan was cast as Alexandra "Alli" Fowler for one season of the popular soap opera Another World. Then, she won the dual part of the Hallie Parker/Annie James twins in the remake of Disney's The Parent Trap (1998).
Following a very brief gig in Bette Midler's sitcom Bette in 2000, she starred in Disney's television films Life-Size (2000) and Get a Clue (2002). She worked for "the mouse" again the next year, by appearing in the blockbuster Freaky Friday (2003) as Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter. Lindsay Lohan's song "Ultimate" can also be heard on the movie's soundtrack.

In 2004, she was seen in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls. What's more, she was in the music video for Lillix's "What I Like About You."

Along with the many projects she had lined up for 2007 (Georgia Rule and I Know Who Killed Me), a true measure of Lindsay Lohan's fame is the amount of times she makes headlines. From her troubled family life to her relationships to her hard-partying ways (she finally completed rehab in October 2007 after several tries), Lindsay Lohan is a major tabloid star.

Sexiness
Lindsay Lohan is far from innocent. Magazines photo spreads like the ones in Movieline, Allure, Teen People, Popstar, and Vanity Fair, as well as her club-hopping lifestyle and stints in rehab prove that she is a wild child. Her relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson is always a hot topic with the tabloids.
As wild as she may be, however, Lindsay Lohan is hot, and she was voted No. 10 in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women, No. 3 in Maxim's 2006 Hot 100 list, and in 2007 she jumped to No. 1on Maxim's Hot 100.

Amy Smart

Posted by Unknown

Biography
Amy Smart was born in 1976 in Topanga Canyon, California. As a young girl, she gained a reputation as a tomboy and was the only girl on her Little League baseball team.

She started to model at age thirteen and moved into acting after landing a role in the 1994 MTV Rock The Vote campaign. She broke into show business with small roles in television movies before making her feature debut in the 1997 independent film, The Last Time I Committed Suicide.
Why Is She Famous?
She is far from being a household name but is known by most for playing the girlfriend with the will of iron to pained and tortured James Van Der Beek in the sleeper hit film, Varsity Blues.
Success
Amy is one of those actresses whom you may recognize but confuse with about a dozen other young performers who have a similar look and talent level. We thought we had seen her in an episode of Buffy or That '70s Show. We were wrong on both counts, although the latter could be because she actually did star in the NBC miniseries, The '70s.

For the time being, her role in Varsity Blues and appearances on Felicity are her main claims to fame. Unless you enjoyed one of her straight to video releases

Sexiness
Amy has a sex appeal that is not apparent at first glance. But when you digest her screen intensity and strength, you fall for her. She does have a loyal following of obsessed male fans that should spend more time on algebra homework than on creating suspect tribute sites.
This is, of course, a sign that she has arrived. We have to reserve caution however, before placing her in the desirable babe category. After all, if Amy Smart is a babe, then what on earth are Shannon Elizabeth, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Love Hewitt? And that comparison was made with apples and apples -- starlets of the same age with comparable talent. What if we were to put Smart up against a goddess like Salma Hayek? Or Halle Berry? She is a definite looker with potential; we just refuse to get all excited until we see more from her.

Quotes

Mila Kunis

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Biography
Mila Kunis was born Milena Markovna Kunis on August 14, 1983, in Kiev, Ukraine, the birthplace of another familiar actress, Milla Jovovich. Her father, Mark, was a mechanical engineer, and her mother, Elvira, a physics teacher.
Why Is She Famous?
Mila Kunis has played the obnoxious, high-maintenance Jackie Burkhardt on the hit series That '70s Show and has worked on big-screen blockbusters like Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008).
Success
It didn't take Mila Kunis long to assimilate into American culture. Within two years of her arrival from the Ukraine, Mila Kunis made her first national appearance in a Payless ShoeSource commercial. By her 16th birthday, she performed in a host of television and film productions, and boasted regular roles on both That '70s Show and Family Guy. Not too shabby for a girl who was still speaking with a strong accent just six years prior.

Since her prime-time TV career, Mila Kunis has worked on several big-screen hits, including Get Over It (2001) with Kristen Dunst, the horror sequel American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002) and Tony and Tina’s Wedding (2004).

Sexiness
Mila Kunis joins Milla Jovovich and Eva Herzigova in the string of Eastern European beauties who have surfaced since the collapse of the Berlin Wall (perhaps it stayed up so long in the first place to keep ladies like these inside).
Even if it sat atop a grotesquely deformed body, Mila Kunis' face alone, with its exquisitely plump lips and green-blue eyes (each eye is a different color), would qualify her as sexy. Luckily for us, her physique is also stunning. The people at GUESS knew Mila Kunis was hot enough to sustain an ad campaign before she even hit her 16th birthday. And she's only gotten sexier ever since.
